For a school project, I tackled the branding for VIGC Verbindt, a Graphic Network event. My work didn’t win, but hey, it made it to the top three. Close enough, right? At least I walked away with sharper design skills and a better understanding of event branding (and a little humility).

My goal was to create a design that blended the past and the future like they were old friends. Sure, technology’s racing ahead, but sometimes it’s good to hit pause and steal a little inspiration from the past. The concept revolves around three main pillars:
Progression: Represented by a stair-like structure, because let’s face it, progress isn’t always a straight line. It’s more like a constant back-and-forth. The stairs also double as a metaphor for the never-ending evolution of graphic design, always on the move, always reaching for that next step.
Reflection: Enter the chrome texture, which doesn’t just look cool but literally reflects its surroundings. It’s all about introspection and adaptability, because sometimes, design is just as much about looking back as it is about looking forward.
Future: The future shows up in the typography. Gimlet Sans keeps it sleek, timeless, and just modern enough, while Pixel Script Font brings in a playful, digital vibe with a touch of nostalgia. Together, they’re proof that technology and humanity can play nice in the future of design.
