Tim Burton Poster

Tim Burton Poster

For a school project, I had to design an alternative poster for a Tim Burton movie. Naturally, I picked Edward Scissorhands. Not just because it’s a classic, but because it’s hands down (pun intended) my favorite Tim Burton film.

I wanted to put my Photoshop skills to the test, so I used a photo of myself and my girlfriend as the starting point. Honestly, Edward’s messy hair kind of reminded me of my own bedhead, so I rolled out of bed, snapped a picture, and got to work. I also hand-drew the typography to give it that sharp, rough edge seemed fitting for Edward’s vibe.

I wanted to capture the scene where Edward cuts the women’s hair. It feels like such a pivotal moment in the movie. The dark black-and-white tones, which represent Edward’s character, are contrasted with the vibrant reds of the hair and background, adding drama and intensity to the design.
